We are looking for dedicated interns who will advocate our “building bridges” initiative by educating American audiences about Azerbaijani and Caucasus culture. Cultural Foundation Internship: The Karabakh Foundation is seeking an intern to provide administrative support in the areas of developing public programs; preparing promotional materials; cultivating partnerships with museums, libraries and institutes; and more. Interns may also have a hand in researching and writing Web content on topics ranging from chess to music to Oriental rugs. Web Internship: The Karabakh Foundation is seeking Web interns and volunteers to create presentations of cultural artifacts and images related to Azerbaijan and the Caucasus. Work includes developing interactive web elements and furthering Web presence for a young and dynamic cultural foundation in downtown Washington, D.C. Candidates must have strong tech savvy and will work side by side with seasoned cultural professionals to produce portfolio-worthy presentations. Museum/Cultural Internship: The Karabakh Foundation is looking for an intern to assist in the management of the Foundation archive and several upcoming exhibit projects. Activities will include, cataloging archive, developing cultural content and educational materials, and assisting in the general actualization and conceptualization of exhibits as Foundation collection and museum endeavors grow. Education Internship: In conjunction with the launching of exhibitions and programs, the Foundation develops educational programming and materials for local D.C. schools and universities. The education intern will work closely with other Karabakh Foundation staff and volunteers to develop interpretive materials, programming, and educational materials. As part of the internship, the individual will visit local schools, attend programming events, and spend time at our main office downtown. Interns will gain first-hand experience building ties with local schools, developing education polices, and creating educational material on the web and for distribution at programs. Within its initial six months of operation, the Foundation has accomplished a myriad of tasks including the launching of Azerbaijani Radio Hour on WUST 1120 am, establishment of an Azerbaijani Documentary Project, hosting numerous cultural programs, and showcasing two contemporary Azerbaijani art exhibitions.
